Erikson Audio has been appointed exclusive Canadian distributors for all Novation hardware and software synthesizers and controller keyboards, effective November 1st 2004. Novation Electronic Music Systems Ltd. was recently acquired by Focusrite Audio Engineering, with the intent of introducing an exciting range of new products. The recently launched X-Station and Remote range of keyboards are already being well received.

With the increasing convergence and evolution of the digital music studio, Novation is a good fit with Erikson Audio's line-up of recording products. NOVATION stands for innovative sound and music production tools.

Novation DICER

The new Novation Dicer puts the control you need, where you need it. An ergonomic cue point and looping performance controller tailor-made for the Laptop DJ environment, Dicer opens up a host of new performance tricks and tools to expand creative DJ’ing.
The official Serato controller, it is a plug and play device that is fully MIDI compatible and there are ready-made setup files to work with other DJ software. It locks straight onto the Technics SL 1200 series and similar turntables, just millimeters away from your timecode vinyl, but with Novation’s reusable ‘DJ putty’, Dicer can be placed just about anywhere.

Novation/Ableton

Novation and Ableton have co-designed a protective sleeve to transport the Launchpad safely. The zip-up sleeve includes internal straps to hold Launchpad firmly in place. It is small enough to fit alongside your laptop and can be carried easily between the studio and the venue.

Novation LaunchPad for Ableton Live

The new Novation Launchpad has been jointly designed be Novation and Ableton, integrating instantly and seamlessly to provide a powerful and musical way to physically and visually interact with Ableton Live.

With a multi-colour 64-button grid and dedicated scene launch buttons, Launchpad is purpose built for triggering and manipulating clips in Live. It also offers a new and exciting way of controlling Ableton Live's mixer. Novation Nocturn Keyboards

The Nocturn Keyboard (available in 25 and 49 key models) is based on the control surface of the hugely popular Novation Nocturn. The addition of a keyboard means that Nocturn's spacious controller layout has been adapted as part of a full control solution for DAW users. The latest version of Automap software graphically displays all control information and enables you to assign parameters with a single click.

Nocturn Keyboard is a musical instrument as well as a control surface, the high-quality Fatar 'Fast Touch' keyboard mechanism, with velocity-sensitivity and aftertouch, allowing for more expressive playing styles. There are separate pitch bend and modulation wheels, as well as 8 velocity sensitive drum pads for sketching drum patterns amd triggering samples.

The control surface has 8 continuous rotary encoders, 25 buttons and a 'Speed Dial' encoder, all arranged to make controlling plug-ins and DAW's quick and easy. Control information is displayed visually. All encoders and buttons light up to show their current settings, and rather than using a tiny LCD screen, Automap's GUI graphically displays Nocturn's entire control surface. Chris Vrenna, Marilyn Manson’s keyboard player, chooses Novation

Grammy-winner Chris Vrenna who has played with Skinny Puppy and Nine Inch Nails is currently on tour with Marilyn Manson playing a Novation ReMOTE SL37.
“We were after a very sleek look on stage,” he says. Chris has fallen in love with many of its features, not least the fact that it is buss powered. “The keyboard also has a backlit LCD which I cannot speak highly enough of,” Vrenna continues. “With the projections and smoke on stage it’s hard enough to see anything but I can always tell what’s up on the keyboard. That’s vital for a live thing – most other keyboards don’t tell you as much information.”

Novation SL Series Expands Control with Automap Universal

When Novation introduced the SL Series, recording in the dark became a thing of the past. Now the intelligent Automap mode, which automatically maps sequencer or plug-in software controls to the SL’s front panel, has become Automap Universal, allowing you to open up ANY application with the SL connected and all instruments (and mixers etc. in some applications) within the session will be detected and mapped to logical areas of the SL, with their controls displayed clearly on the screens.
