Case for Fostex FM-3

The rugged new FM-3 location mixer from Fostex now has an equally rugged case to protect it in transport and while it's working. This case is made of long-lasting cordura with a clear plastic top and velcro sides so cables can be connected and the mixer can be clearly seen while being protect from the elements. The case is complete with a removable shoulder strap and external pockets.

UR-2 Stereo Rack Recorder

The UR-2 is a new generation stereo memory recorder from Fostex that uses 2 SD cards (SDHC compatible) and USB storage device as the recording media. The recording/ playback file format is BWF (WAV). Its ample playback functions will adapt to the wide variety of playback requirements. It offers high quality recording of up to 24bit/96kHz (in BWF format). Employing FAT 32 disc format, it is easy to process the file transfer to a PC based DAW.

New 6301 Model

Fostex 6301 is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Fostex developed and launched the very first model "6300" in 1982 to meet the demand from the market for a handy personal monitor speaker. Even Fostex did not expect it to last for such long time with frequent modifications. The current incarnation, the model 6301B4E features both 1/4” and XLR inputs, along with a built-in 10 watt amplifier, perfectly matched to a 10cm full range driver. PD-606 & PD-204

The long awaited PD-606 location recorder, replacement for Fostex’s groundbreaking PD-6, and the PD-204 were shown at the recent Frankfurt Music Messe.
The PD-606 has six inputs and records six tracks simultaneously, while the PD-204 with its four inputs, records 2 tracks simultaneously.

New Fostex Multi-tracker: MR16HD/CD

The 16-track versions allow recording to a built-in 40 GB HD and offer 4-track simultaneous recording and 16-rack playback, for approximately 8 hours of recording using all 16 tracks. Fostex On The Set Of Stargate

Over the years Fostex has become a mainstay for film and television location sound recording. Working behind the scenes of countless films and TV shows, Fostex has provided the tools sound recordists rely on.
Shot on location in Vancouver at Bridge Studios, Stargate SG-1 (often abbreviated as SG-1) is the longest-running North American science fiction series on television and is listed in the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records. On the set, along side the humans and aliens is a strange-looking piece of technology that is never seen on camera. This is the Fostex-equipped sound cart which Steven Weakes has used to capture audio while filming the episodes.

FR-2 Battery Cable

Those users who use their FR-2 recorders out in the field for extended periods of time will be pleased to learn that Fostex has launched a new product to allow the use of external rechargeable batteries to augment the one built-in. The model 8570 is approximately 70cm long, with a fuse inserted for safety. This is long enough to put the battery in the external pocket of the FR-2 carrying case. New software allowing the FR-2 to use external batteries should be available by the time your read this. Please call for availability.
