New 6301 Model
Fostex 6301 is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Fostex developed and launched the very first model "6300" in 1982 to meet the demand from the market for a handy personal monitor speaker. Even Fostex did not expect it to last for such long time with frequent modifications.

Over the years Fostex has become a mainstay for film and television location sound recording. Working behind the scenes of countless films and TV shows, Fostex has provided the tools sound recordists rely on.
Shot on location in Vancouver at Bridge Studios, Stargate SG-1 (often abbreviated as SG-1) is the longest-running North American science fiction series on television and is listed in the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records. On the set, along side the humans and aliens is a strange-looking piece of technology that is never seen on camera. This is the Fostex-equipped sound cart which Steven Weakes has used to capture audio while filming the episodes. |

22/02/06 FR-2 Battery Cable
Those users who use their FR-2 recorders out in the field for extended periods of time will be pleased to learn that Fostex has launched a new product to allow the use of external rechargeable batteries to augment the one built-in. The model 8570 is approximately 70cm long, with a fuse inserted for safety. This is long enough to put the battery in the external pocket of the FR-2 carrying case. New software allowing the FR-2 to use external batteries should be available by the time your read this. Please call for availability. |
